Goreme Open Air Museum Cappadocia, TR

Known for cave churches with frescoes.  Listed on UNESCO World Heritage since 1984.
The site has been used as early settlement by Christians who are escaping from the Roman soldiers.  People made abbeys (where the religious monks and like dwell) with frescoes (wall paintings) and houses in the volcanic rocks.
