Doha, Qatar

Doha is neighboring country of Bahrain, their flags are similar except Doha is red-maroon and the later is bright red.
Here i spent my one week leave with my sister.  I haven't seen her for a couple of months and she can't join us in Bahrain for Christmas.  I also would like to see her living and working condition in Qatar after her husband went back to Philippines.  It would be nice to share time and cheer her up atleast before Christmas.
Love you sis, Elena.

Doha is just 25 mins by plane from Bahrain.  There are so many different faces and nationalities on queue at the immigration but the transaction was fast. There are digital ID photo capturing mounted on the wall at each counter, so the immigration officers need not to move from their seat.  They are only accepting credit and debit cards for visa payment on arriving visitors.  The visa chrage is QR100 Qatar Riyals.  It was fast, no sweat!

I ended up waiting for my sister to pick me up at the airport :-))).  I teased her that i came from Bahrain and she is just in Doha and I came first to the base :-).  It was traffic she said.

She arrived on a private taxi and paid QR30 each way (near or far)... not cheap!
It is much likely Bahrain as we continue on  the road and observed that very less, nearly no people walking around.
We reached the place where my sister lives and I quoted that if I reached home, I will not go out...since there is no place to hang around.  Boring place.
Oh!  seeing this line of shops from the window makes it feel that this place is not really isolated :-).

The next evening my sister walked me around, since she came home early from work.   I felt that it is unfriendly environment.  Wide dusty road, tall fences no people around expect those inside of the so many moving cars.  If there is something happened to you along the way, no help. You shout- no one will hear or care will give a hand.  Anyway...it's ought to be deserted place what would I expect.
Anyway, there are three malls probably 1.5 km by walk.  The Lulu Hypermarket which is located at the opposite of the high-way and impossible to reach not being suicidal.  The Ramiz, Restaurants and The Landmark.  When the famous Villaggio mall had its traggic fire, customers diverted to The Landmark so it was crowded.

Here are the places that I have visited and seen around Doha.

Villaggio Mall
It's an amazing showcase of indoor shops with collection of different building designs.

Hyatt Plaza, another mall next to Villagio, had our lunch there to fuel our tummy for next exploration :-)

Beef Wanton Noodles and special halo-halo (no pic) by Chowking.  We don't have this in Bahrain.

Circle Rainbow

We are flying above at 36,000 feet, there was a bad weather from Trivandrum, India to Bahrain.  The seatbelt sign was on for almost throughout the flight.

The seatbelt has been released after passing through an area of turbulence.
Went to look at the window and a strange dirt on the window as you look at it.
But hey...tried to changed angle and it is still there!!!

It was real. I heard the story from one the crew.  It was the same event having bad weather and after passing thru the area ... she saw a full circle of rainbow.

A rainbow.  A full circle of rainbow. Yes! Its a rainbow.  It is very rare to be seen.

Bring Me!

Passing along the aisle while looking at those eyes which convey the message "we are bored, how long still before we reach the place"?, though for sure they know the answer.  My answer, just smile.  I feel them.

Returning flight from Kathmandu to Bahrain for 5.30 hours flight, no entertainment on that flight and we are all done with our service.  Given away all our English newspapers and showed Sudoku and Word Search pages to at least entertain and consume their time.  Time flies fast when you are busy ;-).

"Sister, sister" one calls out,  "Where is my reward? I finished it already", showing the Word Search page with pen circled words.  "Me too",  from the opposite row.  :-)))))

They are bored, I am too, my team also, so to speak and I can't stand those questioning eyes...what can I do to make those eyes wink with a glee.

Thought of games that is easy for them, to entertain them, for them to have fun.  Bring Me!  Consult the idea to the flying crew and they even shared idea on what items to Bring.  :-).  Cool.

Bring Me! Is a game where the host of the game ask the participants to bring the requested items.

All are attentive and looking so ready for the game.

Bring Me!!!

Bring Me...a white hair strand!  The 4th row...here! here! My Mama!  The woman took a hair strand from her mom sitting next to her!  Can you imagine how much laugh in there?!
Bring Me...a 1 rupee coin!  Ahhh that was easy, more are showing the coins :-). Again, this is working, they are participating.

Bring Me...a red ballpen!  No one have a red pen.

Bring Me...a red wallet!  Ha! Ha! Ha!  Most of them shows a dark brown leather wallet, of course that is not the one we are looking for...Here comes red!!!!

Bring Me...red socks!  I was having a second thought about this item because I had a fun-tastic blue-cheese socks smell on the outbound flight while passing at the cabin when lights are off :-).  Who cares about the smell when everybody is having fun.  Bring me Red Socks!

A lady showed pink.  Sorry sister, that's pink!  :-)  Unfortunately, no one wear red socks that time :-).

Bring Me...red shoes!
Oh he is coming. Sir, that is is brown!  Nice try there :-))).
Someone from the back is coming. Yes! This one is RED :-))))

Bring Me...red t-shirt!
A passenger came with his stripe colors :-).   Hmmm your's are two colors.
There one coming from the back. Come on down...red t-shirt!  :-).

Five winners is all we can have.  One of our fellow crew prepared surprise for the winners!

Clap! Clap! Clap!
That was fun :-)
